The First United Community Dreams Foundation is proud to provide $5,000 in funding to the WGW Community Youth Cup in support of Landon’s Library Trust Fund. The fundraising efforts of the WGW Community Youth Cup have grossed $1.5 million entering its 13th year. This event provides funding needs of over 90 area youth charities and organizations, including Landon’s Library.
Landon’s Library Trust Fund promotes childhood literacy by providing books each month to Garrett County children, from birth to first day of kindergarten. This is the first county-wide effort of its kind in Maryland. To date, over 500,000 books have been distributed to enrich the lives of children and their families, along with Kindermusik and monthly playdates. Additionally, Landon’s Library Trust Fund provides academic and athletic scholarship opportunities to Garrett County high school students.
The First United Community Dreams Foundation is committed to making dreams a reality, especially in access to education, and paving the way for a prosperous future for everyone. Through grants, sponsorships and investments, the Foundation provides support to community partners in local nonprofits, institutions, schools and other community organizations that offer critical services and programs in the communities we serve, including Garrett, Allegany, Washington and Frederick counties in Maryland, and Mineral, Berkeley and Monongalia counties in West Virginia.
