Customers are the driving force behind any business. Without a steady flow of clients, no company could survive. It's important to keep your patrons happy so they keep coming back for more. Every business has people that come in on a near-daily basis. They could be stopping by for their morning coffee or for their weekly groceries. 2. Ask your customers what they're thinking
You may enjoy your product or service, but that doesn't mean everyone else does. Getting your clienteles' input will let you know what their thoughts are on your company. It could be a suggestion box or something as simple as "How was everything today?" Asking how a customer's experience was will help you improve your business and show them you care, radio host and YouTube sensation Jesse Torres told Entrepreneur.
3. Create a loyalty program
Many stores and restaurants offer discount or reward cards to returning customers. They may need to open an account at the business first – some give discounts for new credit accounts – but it could be as simple as noticing they're frequent patrons. While you should treat every customer with respect, Newtek Business Services told Forbes that employers shouldn't be afraid to treat regulars a little more special than others. If they're willing to return to your business often, they deserve preferential treatment.
4. Meet deadlines
Whether that means getting a project done by a certain date or responding to an email in a timely manner, you should strive to get tasks accomplished. Being in constant communication with your clientele and getting things to them on time should be a top priority. It creates goodwill that will keep your customers returning and bring new ones in. Clients will stick with a business they can trust, not one who never meets a deadline, according to Newtek. Get your work done and to your client on time and you'll be on your way to establishing that positive relationship.
While it may take time to develop a rapport with your customers, it will be worth it. Being friendly and getting to know who's frequenting your business will keep your clients happy and coming back for more.
