2020 First United-United Way Golf Tournament Final Donation Information

First United Sponsors 32nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament

First United Bank & Trust sponsored the 32nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Oakland Golf Club on Friday, September 25, 2020. This was the 22nd year that First United has organized this event. The tournament has become a tradition over the past 31 years and has raised over $536,500 for Garrett County charities. Participants were able to enjoy a challenging round of golf, and at the same time, help raise much-needed funds for worthy community projects.

We want to recognize the top winners of the tournament this year. The first place (low gross) team was Garrett County Community Action and they won $500. The first place (low net) team was Glotfelty Enterprises and they also won $500. (pictured below)

This year, the recipient of the tournament proceeds was the United Way of Garrett County, to which First United donated $12,500.

Juli McCoy, Executive Director of United Way stated, “It came as welcomed news that First United was moving forward with their annual golf tournament for County United Way. During these challenging times, it is vital that local organizations continue to have resources to address existing and emerging needs right here at home. Thank you to our wonderful friends at First United for the work that allowed the event to happen safely and successfully and thank you to the golfers who chose to participate in the tournament that provides essential funding for programs in Garrett County.”
