FREDERICK, Md. — First United Bank & Trust is proud to announce its participation in Frederick County Transit’s Adopt-a-Stop Program through the adoption of the bus stop located on Riverbend Way in Frederick.

As part of this commitment, First United associates will help maintain the transit stop by conducting regular cleanups, monitoring the area for litter, and reporting any maintenance concerns to Transit Services of Frederick County. The Bank’s Riverside Office team will serve as the primary volunteers for the location and have committed to performing cleanups at least once each month.

The Riverbend Way Stop is a highly visible transit location that features several rider amenities, including the overhead shelter, bench, trash receptacle, and solar lighting.

“Supporting the communities we serve goes beyond banking,” said Nakisha Aviles-Broadnax, Regional Retail Manager at First United. “By adopting this bus stop, we’re investing in a shared community space by helping create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for residents and visitors who rely on public transportation every day. We believe these small acts of service can make a meaningful difference, and we’re excited to be part of this effort.”

Frederick County Transit’s Adopt-a-Stop Program encourages businesses, civic groups, schools, and nonprofit organizations to take responsibility for one of the county’s nearly 400 bus stops and shelters. Participants help improve the appearance of transit facilities by removing litter, reporting graffiti or damage, and notifying Transit of any service-related concerns.

In recognition of its commitment to the Adopt-a-Stop Program, First United has received a certificate of appreciation from Frederick County and a dedicated sign at the Riverbend Way bus stop.
