Alan Mullendore, Managing Director of Commercial Services at First United Bank & Trust, is proud to announce the promotion of Jarrod Furgason to Director of Commercial Services – East, based at the Edgewood Drive Community Office in Hagerstown, MD.
In his new role, Furgason will lead commercial banking efforts across the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and Washington and Frederick counties in Maryland, overseeing client relationships, driving strategic growth, and guiding a team focused on delivering comprehensive financial solutions to business clients. He will continue to play a key role in expanding the bank’s commercial portfolio while deepening partnerships within the local business community.
Furgason spent more than six years as a market president and commercial lender, over 20 years as a loan officer, and more than 15 years in financial institution management. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Fairmont State University and his MBA from West Virginia University. He further strengthened his leadership and industry expertise through a Certificate of Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, a graduate banking degree from the Stonier/ABA School of Banking at Wharton, and advanced studies in commercial lending and credit through RMA at East Carolina University.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Furgason has remained deeply involved in his community. He has coached youth and high school football as a quarterback coach for Martinsburg and Capital High Schools, contributing to five state championship teams. He has also served as a board member for the Fairmont State Athletic Association, Rea of Hope, Berkeley County Schools Partners in Education, and Fairmont Rotary. Additionally, he has served as president of Berry Hills Country Club and the Thomas Health Systems Foundation.
