Tonya Sturm, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at First United Bank & Trust, is proud to announce the promotion of Diane Emory to Managing Director of Financial and Management Accounting, effective November 2025.

In her new role, Emory, who also holds the title of Vice President, will lead the Bank’s financial and management accounting department. She will oversee all accounting functions, guide the preparation of reporting for both the Bank and the Corporation, and collaborate closely with internal and external auditors and examiners to ensure accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance.

Emory brings more than three decades of accounting operations experience to the position and has been a dedicated associate of First United since 2004. Throughout her career at the Bank, she has served in roles including Staff Accountant, Senior Staff Accountant, Controller, and most recently, Director of Management Accounting. Her deep institutional knowledge and strong financial expertise have been instrumental in driving the Bank’s financial reporting excellence.

Her education includes studies at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration. Emory is also an Honors graduate of the Maryland Bankers Association Banking School.
