Allegany County DSS appreciates and values our relationship with First United Bank. As a local bank headquartered in the Western Maryland region, we have seen first-hand how First United invests not only in their customers but the community as a whole. As a key sponsor of our annual Safe and Snug Program, each fall First United branches in Allegany County collect much needed winter coats, hats, and gloves that we distribute to preschool and school age children. In the last two years, with the support of First United Bank we have distributed over 1000 coats to children and youth in need.

When I started Exclamation Labs, it was just me. First United has hosted their annual golf tournament to benefit United Way of Garrett County for many years, contributing to a quarter of the community fund. These dollars are vital to health, education, and financial stability programs that help the people of Garrett County each day. In addition, the corporation allows an opportunity for employees to give to United Way and matches those dollars to maximize the investment. We are eternally grateful, not only for the fundraising, but for the hundreds of volunteer hours the employees give through our events and requests for additional services that benefit children and families.
