Jason Rush, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at First United Bank & Trust, is pleased to announce the promotion of Marissa Murphy to Information Security and Disaster Recovery Officer.
In this role, Marissa will be spearheading the corporation’s Information Security Policy and managing its cybersecurity initiative, as well as working to maintain and coordinate the bank’s disaster recovery program. The role will afford her the opportunity to work and coordinate with other departments to ensure the operating policies and procedures are followed to meet compliance.
“Marissa has proven to be an enormous asset to First United in our information security, risk management, and vendor management areas,” Rush said. “She understands disaster recovery and business continuity principles and keeps updated on laws and regulations and how they apply to our bank. I know she will continue to flourish in this role to help guide First United in all areas of information security and compliance.”
Marissa joined First United 2 1/2 years ago as the Assistant Information Security and Disaster Recovery Officer. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and corrections from Penn State University and a Master of Science in homeland security from Northwestern State University. She also has a CompTIA Security+ certification and is ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity.
In her spare time, Marissa enjoys camping, motocross, being outdoors and spending time with her husband, Gaving, and daughter, Josie.
