Since the flooding occurred, there has been an overwhelming amount of donations received to impacted areas.
At this time, officials are asking to place a hold on donations, as they work with a Donations Coordinator from MD Emergency Management to organize.

- Bruce Outreach Center is doing spaghetti dinners and rolls for senior citizens today. If you know of anyone who needs lunch delivered, please reach out to them. They will also serve a hot meal at the outreach center for anyone who needs lunch. If you wish to make a donation you can text the Pastor at 301 268 3007. They do have a donation portal online as well subsplash.com or by visiting their facebook page.

Loan Relief Offers
Customers who would like to learn more about our loan relief offers should be directed to our MyBank.com/relief4u web page to find a local office, business or mortgage specialist. Marketing has developed lots of messaging, resource page updates, flyer and social media posts regarding loan relief and how FUBT is helping. Be sure to review and share these materials, accordingly!
Assistance For U Fund
Promote our newly created "Assistance for U" fund to accept monetary donations from anyone in the community.
- 100% of funds raised are being donated to organizations supporting disaster relief or to purchase necessary supplies.
- This fundraising opportunity will be in place indefinitely.
- Review this procedure for applying donations to the proper account.
- Be sure to mention to all branch visitors! Use this Assistance For U Flyer to help promote in branch.
You may add to an 8.5x11 acrylic holder for placement on Teller pod, as appropriate. - Branch TV, outdoor, and other advertising channels will also be used promote this fund and encourage the use of disaster relief resource page: MyBank.com/help.
Volunteer opportunities
Many of you have asked what you can do to help the areas affected by the flooding.
- Volunteer Hub: There are volunteer opportunities for all ages and skill levels. Visit the Volunteer Hub to find opportunities for disaster Relief or any other scheduled activities.
- Reach out to the First United contact listed or your Regional Volunteer Champion (RVC) to help direct your answer questions to the right contact, or to help provide you with specific event information.
- If you know of an opportunity and it’s not listed in the portal, you are permitted to add it! Reach out to your Regional Volunteer Champion for assistance.
- You must work out any scheduling issues with your direct supervisor, to address any tasks that may arise while you are out of the office.
- If you have any existing injury (cuts, scrapes, or open wounds), you are asked to refrain from assisting with flood cleaning projects (shoveling mud, removing flood waters) to avoid any health issues. There are opportunities to hand out bottles of water, food, and other important duties! Each opportunity in the portal will breakdown tasks to make it easy for you to decide the best option for you.
